Pets
While we love animals, with the exception of service animals we do not allow pets.
Service dogs are welcomed and accepted as required by law, per the American Disabilities Act*.
*Service animals are defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, or calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack. Service animals are working animals. They are not pets. Further, the task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability.
A dog whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support does not qualify as a service animal under the ADA.
Check-In/Check-Out
- The check-in is between the hours of 3pm and 6pm daily. Guests are able to drop off their belongings after 1pm. We will provide a parking permit and a map to our parking and the historic St. Augustine attractions. Our check-out is at or before 11am daily.
Children
- Our inn serves as a quiet, romantic getaway for the majority of our guests, and our facilities are geared toward that scenario. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate children under the age of 12.
Deposits
- A 50% deposit will be collected for all reservations or packages, with remaining balance to be paid upon arrival at check-in. We accept all credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express etc.
Cancellation/Change
At Casa de Solana Bed and Breakfast, we understand that situations arise that make cancellations/changes unavoidable. If your plans change after your reservation is confirmed, please contact us as soon as possible in advance of your stay. Please note that our cancellation policies are a vital part of managing a small, family owned and operated bed & breakfast. If you must cancel or change your reservation, please note the following:
- A $50 fee will be charged for reservations canceled up to 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival. The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel or change the reservation in the 14 days before arrival. If the guest doesn’t show up, they will be charged the total price of the reservation.
Hurricane Policy
- We cannot be responsible for delays, interruptions, cancellations or inconveniences in your trip due to weather. However, if you have a confirmed reservation and you are due to arrive within 24 hours and an evacuation order due to a hurricane warning is in effect, you will receive a full refund or transfer any deposits to a future stay. If you have already arrived in the city and an evacuation order is placed, you will receive a refund for the unused portion of your stay. Please note that in the event of a hurricane evacuation order, you must leave the city…there are no exceptions. St Johns County Emergency Management has developed a phone notification system to notify us of such orders. If you choose not to use your reservation due to an impending storm, but an evacuation notice is not in effect, a refund cannot be offered and our standard cancellation policy applies.
Travel Insurance
- We strongly urge you to purchase travel insurance, which if purchased in advance will cover accommodation losses and travel expenses due to weather including hurricanes. You will find additional information of the coverages of the policies by clicking the link below: http://www.travelguard.com
Parking
- We have 10 parking spaces, which equates to one car per room. All of the inn’s parking is offsite; there is no onsite parking available. We have a loading and unloading zone only. Parking is a three-block walk from the inn. Please come directly to the main house to check in, drop off your luggage, and obtain your parking permit. Parking is only available for guests staying at the inn. All other guests for weddings or other private functions must use street parking or paid metered parking.
Weddings
- Wedding guests are allowed to arrive 30 minutes prior to the wedding ceremony.
Additional Guests
- All room rates are based on double occupancy (two guests). Additional guests must be approved by the front desk manager in advance (not all rooms are appropriate for more than two people). The charge for additional guests is $50 per guest per day.
Phone Calls and Visitors
- It is our practice to not divulge your presence or non-presence at Casa de Solana Bed and Breakfast to any phone call or in-person inquiries. If you are expecting a guest, please inform the front desk manager of the name, and you will be called on your cell phone when the visitor arrives. You are responsible for escorting said guest to and from your room. For your privacy, and the privacy of other inn guests, temporary visitors are not permitted to wander the interior. They are, of course, welcome to enjoy the courtyard. If you have not given permission in advance to acknowledge your presence at the inn to outsiders, we will not do so.
Smoking
- Casa de Solana Bed and Breakfast is a non-smoking inn. Smoking is permitted only on balconies or grounds surrounding the inn.
