We chose this B@B on the internet and hoped it would be satisfactory. It far exceeded our expectations. Utterly charming and comfortable. Our suite had a fireplace and our room had an outside door to a beautiful garden. I loved the antique decor – every room is individually furnished. Some have whirlpool tubs and porches. The complimentary breakfasts were not only delicious but served with elegance and style. We had to arrive late and Cathy left us explicit instructions which made it easy to get into our room. The homemade cookies and sherry were a lovely touch. I’d definitely stay here again.

The only downside is there’s no parking on the premise, but we absolutely loved our stay at Casa De Solana. The owner is clearly very dedicated, always with a helpful suggestion on where to go and what to do. Umbrellas as the door to take with you when you go out (we needed one almost every day!), delicious heath bar cookies greeting you when you return. The breakfasts were wonderful. The main areas and the rooms are nicely appointed.
We felt very comfortable here and we would definitely stay again!

Linda’s birthday was on Dec. 25, so it was a double celebration during our 3-day stay during the “Nights of Lights” extravaganza in St. Augustine. The Casa was located on Aviles Street, convenient to the historic downtown area. The history of the Casa, the gardens, the interior decor with the added Christmas decorations, the accommodations, and the overall ambiance were wonderful. The breakfasts were amazing, and as an added bonus they accommodate dietary restrictions. Linda and I are both vegan, and the knowledgeable and talented Chef Marriola prepared us special, and scrumptious, breakfasts three days running. We highly recommend the Casa de Solana. We will be returning.

We stayed at Casa de Solana over Christmas Eve and Christmas night. We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were very spacious and had every amenity, and then some, we could have wanted. The B&B was decorated inside and outside beautifully for Christmas. The breakfasts were outstanding! The owners and all the staff were very, very friendly and accommodating. We used the bicycles available to customers and took a long, lovely Christmas Day ride. Could hear the carriage horses go by in the Francesca room, but we enjoyed the sound and found it to be calming. Didn’t keep us awake at all. We were there with another couple and they were just as happy, as we were, with the B&B. If we are ever in St. Augustine again, we will definitely stay at Casa de Solana again.

This was our second time staying here and we recommended that our friends come and stay there too. The location is great. Rooms are clean and comfortable and Lynn at the front desk is very personable and gave us some interesting information. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed here recently while in town for a wedding. Staff was wonderful, we actually arrived early and our room was ready, so we were allowed to check in early. Very accommodating! We stayed in the Minorcan suite, which had a separate living area and bedroom, on the first floor. Everything was clean and in working order. Shower was great!!! (I can’t stand a crappy shower) We also had a separate entrance into the courtyard. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. We were within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and art galleries. Breakfast was delicious! Stuffed French toast one day and eggs Benedict the second, along with fresh fruit. Almost forgot, we met some great people during social hour with wine, cheese, crackers and fruit. I definitely recommend and will stay here again some day!

We really loved our stay here. On arrival we were shown to our room and given information about the parking and all about the guest house. Parking was a breeze. We parked in the guest house while checking in and then took the car round to the carpark using the map we were kindly given. It was easy to find with ample marked outlet spaces. It was a few minutes walk back through some interesting streets and no bother at all. We had a key for our room which opened an exterior door to the courtyard. I think the room was the Minorcan Suite and we were really happy with it. It had the door to the courtyard and a door to the main house which was where breakfast was served. The room was very spacious with a very very large bed which was so comfy I could have stayed there forever. We also had a lounge with some port left out for us, some water and tea and coffee. This area was very cosy with a nice feel. We had a tv in each room but we didnt get to watch them as we were too busy exploring the town! The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate and they provided nice toiletries etc. The shower was in an alcove off the bedroom which was pretty quirky. It was a bit dated and the shower head a bit low for us but absolutely nothing wrong with it in terms of getting washed. We found the people in the guest house polite and friendly on checkin and at breakfast. Breakfast was super in a nice room. We felt well looked after and had cereal, juice and coffee. Followed by fruit salad and French toast. None of us would have set out to order this but there was no option to change. However, it was all delicious and we all enjoyed it throughly. The location is good and very quiet. We walked to everything and found the centre of St Augustine really nice. I would definitely recommend a stay here, much better than a chain hotel with a bit more atmosphere. I certainly would go back.

This location is prime. It’s located on the oldest street in the country (it’s beautiful and makes you feel like you have left the country). The breakfast was great. They have A 4 o’clock wine, crackers and cheese social hour that I enjoyed and used as an intermission cool off session. The room has some port wine for you to enjoy, a good size Jacuzzi, a beautiful fire place, a little coffee machine, a beautiful courtyard, etc. I was pleased with it all. When you stay here it’s a worry free experience. Very pleasant.

We stayed here for our honeymoon 30 years ago and decided to return for our 30th anniversary this month. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit as much as we did 30 yrs ago. Some changes have taken place, but still we were very pleased with the staff, food, service and comfortable rooms. We have stayed in the Segui and Minorcan rooms. The location can’t be beat. We enjoyed ourselves and again had a wonderful stay and will be back again soon!!

We decided to stay at Casa de Solana based on previous reviews. Location is amazing. Aviles St is a fun, cobblestoned street marked with an archway! Yes, you can drive down it! Check in was quick and easy. Parking is not onsite but a short very beautiful walk away. Loading and unloading the car is done onsite at check-in/check-out so no lugging suitcases on the street. We stayed in the British Suite which is on the 3rd floor. Lots of stairs so be prepared. The room itself seemed clean. The bed was very comfortable. The shower has a sloped ceiling which may be challenging for taller guests. In office Keurig style coffee maker and water bottles provided. Breakfast was tasty. Very good experience overall! Would definitely stay again in the future.

Extremely well run and clean B&B with beautiful outdoor gardens surrounding the home. Our room was full of charm, very spacious with a nice balcony. The staff members were very helpful, curtious and always professional. The amenities included a wine hour with light hors d’oeuvres and a fabulous breakfast with fresh coffee and juice, with chef prepared dishes that rival a 4* restaurant. We would definitely stay here again on another visit to St Augustine – loved everything about it!

I did not properly communicate to them that I am wheelchair handicapped and that we needed a room on the first floor. Even though I was grumpy when I first arrived they went beyond the call of duty to accommodate me. Our room was nice and very comfortable. It is located in the heart of the old city and I was able to easily get to all the restaurants and shops in my wheelchair. Breakfast was a delicious. Parking is an issue throughout St Augustine. The parking lot for this place is five blocks away. The only real disappointment I had was I did not see a ghost. It has been said the B&B is haunted but I saw nothing. They did a great job and they are great people. Thank you for taking care of me.
