10 Nov St. Augustine Nights of Lights – November 19, through January 31, 2017
It is our 23rd annual Nights of Lights with over three million lights that adorn our historic city. An award-winning holiday lights display that runs from November 19, 2016 through January 31, 2017. Our trains and trolleys offer special seasonal tours and bring guests through the best areas of the Nights of Lights. A high “light” of the tour is the Lightner Museum, Plaza de la Constitucion and the Bridge of Lions. What makes this very special and traditional is that is history dates back to the the Spanish practice of displaying a white candle in the window. Furthermore, candles allude to the fact that Mary and Joseph could not find a place that would give them shelter. When the Spanish put the candles in the windows it means that they are making room in their homes. Jesus would have a place in their homes and hearts, providing a warm and welcoming home for the holiday season.
Things to do are plenty, by taking a stroll through the many wonderful streets of our historic town you will find many of our businesses are open later. By wondering through the town you will find many an opportunity for beautiful holiday pictures. We can not forget the all important selfies that we have come to enjoy for our special moments.
