It’s St. Augustine’s annual festival of live music and award-winning BBQ – the 24th Rhythm & Ribs Festival Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7, 2019. Headliners on Friday night will be Billy Buchanan from 5:30 – 7:30 pm and PAPERCUTT from 8:00 – 10:00 pm. On Saturday, it’s Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime from 8:00 – 10:00 pm. Other bands Saturday afternoon and evening include the Pellicer Creek Band, Salt Driven Ride, and Firewater Tent Revival. On Sunday, listen to the West King String Band, followed by Jaybone and Them Vegabonds to close the festival.
Five national and regional BBQ champions from the Midwest and the Southeast will try their best to win the 2019 People’s Choice Award. Returning to Rhythm & Ribs this year are Carolina Rib King, winner of the People’s Choice Award in 2018, Desperado’s BBQ (Best Ribs, 2018), Off The Bone BBQ (Best Sauce, 2018), Johnson’s BBQ, and Florida’s own Porky n Beans. Expect plenty of festival fare to accompany the BBQ, from beer, lemonade, and soft drinks to French fries and corn dogs, plus sweet treats like funnel cakes and kettle corn.
The Festival is family friendly, with artisan vendors and a fun zone including rides, games, a rock climbing wall, and pony rides. Families, remember Sunday is Family Day with reduced admission and ride wristbands.
