27 Aug 2018 Florida Heritage Book Festival in St Augustine
Named one of the “12 Annual Events In Florida You Absolutely Can’t Miss,” the Florida Heritage Book Festival returns to St. Augustine Saturday, September 15, 2018. This free day-long event includes presentations by best-selling authors and book signings in the Authors’ Marketplace, where you can chat with famous Florida writers. The 10th Annual Florida Heritage Book Festival takes place at the Ringhaver Student Center of Flagler College in St. Augustine’s historic district, just a short walk away for guests staying at the Casa de Solana Bed and Breakfast.
The Book Festival showcases regional and nationally-recognized writers who portray Florida’s special culture, heritage, and character, or who live in our state. Three morning sessions and one afternoon session each feature five different authors’ presentations. A number of this year’s authors won Florida Book Awards in 2016 and 2017. These presenters include Mark Woods speaking on Lasooing the Sun; Laura Lee Smith, The Ice House; Jeff Klinkenberg, Son of Real Florida: Stories from My Life; and Robert Macomber, An Honorable War. Each year the Festival chooses a Florida author as their Literary Legend, based on his or her contributions to literature and culture. This year’s Festival concludes with a Presentation and Book Signing by the 2018 Literary Legend, Tim Dorsey, who will discuss The Pope of Palm Beach.
The Festival Marketplace also offers opportunities for attendees to visit with other published authors and vendors throughout the Book Festival. For a complete schedule of the Book Festival’s authors’ presentations and biographies, please visit their website. The Florida Heritage Book Festival also hosts a Writers Conference and Literary Legends Reception on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Renaissance World Golf Village Resort.
